Donating Books for a Cause
I’ve been on a mission to donate over 600 copies of my book, *Father of Mine*, thanks to a generous individual who purchased $10,000 worth of them phdream app. This stash is gradually decreasing. As I mentioned last week, 500 copies are headed to the West Virginia Division of Correction and Rehabilitation for distribution across my home state’s 24 correctional facilities. I’m also open to requests for the additional copies on a case-by-case basis.
Today, I sent out some copies and plan to do the same every Friday. It’s my only semi-normal day of the week during football season and the only day I take my car out for a drive, always obeying the posted speed limits. luckycolasite
If you’re interested in making a request (just saying “I’d like to read it” won’t cut it), please send an email to [email protected]. I’ve already sent copies to various high schools that are okay with the book’s strong language (as Simms says, “Kid’s gotta learn sometime”—and by high school, they most likely have). Next week, I’ll be sending a box to a youth correctional facility in Maine and have also contributed to fundraising efforts for individuals facing different challenges.
Once the current stash is finished, I might consider replenishing it on my own.
Writing for the Love of It
For me, writing isn’t about earning money. I’ve come to realize that, even when published by a traditional publisher like Playmakers, the final compensation after taxes amounts to roughly the same hourly pay I earned during my high school days at Kentucky Fried Chicken. (I may not have the pay stubs, but I could walk into any KFC today and still whip up a batch of original recipe and/or extra crispy.)
I find joy in creating work that doesn’t lose relevance overnight and in transforming a blank page into something that comes to life for the reader. I’ve been writing books as a hobby for over four years and am currently working on my 10th and 11th books whenever I manage to find an hour or two. My initial goal was to write 20 books, which has now been revised to 30 and, ultimately, however many I can craft before I’m unable to write any longer.
On that note, my eleventh book will be the third installment in the *Father of Mine* series, continuing exactly where *Son of Mine* leaves off . I’m about 100 pages into it and still figuring out where it’s headed. Discovering the story one chapter at a time is one of the best parts of the writing process.
Book Availability
If you haven’t read *Father of Mine* yet and are interested, the ebook is just $3.99, while *Son of Mine* is available for $4.99. The print edition for either book is only $14.99.
All the books are designed to be fast-paced, unpredictable, and full of twists and turns. There are no complicated words like “denouement” or “sanguine,” unless a character uses them (and none have so far).
Feel free to check them out if you’re interested ditoregistration. If not, that’s perfectly fine as well. If you enjoy what you read here, there’s a good chance you’ll like what you find in the books. taya 777 ph
